Grading: In order to earn an A letter grade, students must complete three units
of forensics competition. In order to earn a B letter grade, students must
complete in two units of forensics competition. Opportunities for competition
are listed in the course schedule above. A unit is considered to be 4 debate
rounds or 3 ½ hours of student congress competition. Each debate contest listed
offers 4-6 debate rounds and each student congress is at least 3 ½ hours in
length except state student congress, which is 7 hours, so two units.
Grades will consist mainly of performance based activities (speeches) but will
also include quizzes, daily assignments, written assignments, and discussion.
Grades will be kept on a point basis that will then be calculated into a
percentage grade. The following letter grade scale will be used:
